From January 1st 2015, if you're studying nationally recognised training in Australia, you will be required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Your Unique Student Identifier (USI) is a reference number made up of numbers and letters that gives you access to your USI account. When applying for a job or enrolling in further study, you may need to provide evidence of your training. The benefit of your USI is that you will have convenient access to your training records whenever required.

If you have a genuine personal objection to being assigned a USI you can apply to the Student Identifiers Registrar for an exemption.
To apply for an exemption, you must complete a Commonwealth Statutory Declaration and send it to the Registrar at the following address:
